Alan Stoneham C.P D.E.Sc AD.LGM MAICD

Alan’s working life has been spent making critical decisions in master planning, place making and property development towards Western Sydney’s future, where he also grew up, raised a family and still calls home.

His local government career stretched 46 years and navigated from Assistant Town Planner to long time General Manager by his retirement in 2018, the vast majority of which was at Western Parkland City metropolitan centre Penrith City Council.

Alan chaired the local government team to deliver the Western Sydney City Deal, and was the councils’ joint representative on the City Deal negotiation team.

Since retiring from Penrith City Council, Alan was commissioned by the eight City Deal councils to develop a Partnership Framework for working together as a region. His standing with local government has been critical to making the City Deal a reality.
