Market Sounding Process

Working with industry to plan the Aerotropolis

The Western City & Aerotropolis Authority (WCAA) team, together with our Foundation Partners will move into the next stage of curating the three precincts within the Aerotropolis: Advanced Manufacturing and Research, Agribusiness and the Northern Gateway precincts.

WCAA will collaborate with our Foundation Partners to develop the thinking around key activities within the precincts, including:

  • Curation of an initial Advanced Manufacturing Research Facility

  • Expressions of interest to participate in the Advanced Manufacturing Research Facility

  • Expressions of interest to locate at the Advanced Manufacturing and Research Precinct

  • Development of a specific approach to education, training and research for the Multiversity in the Advanced Manufacturing and Research Precinct

  • Curation of a Freight and Logistics Hub, including cold store supply chain facilities

  • Expressions of interest to participate in the Freight and Logistics Hub

  • Opportunities to participate in the priority areas for development planning at the Agribusiness precinct

  • Development of an implementation plan to establish a Centre of Excellence in Food Innovation

  • Early engagement on options for utilities infrastructure and services

This curation process will run progressively over the coming months, during which time WCAA and the Foundation Partners will also consider:

  • the nature and scope of activities to be undertaken including the initial research focus;

  • the permitted uses;

  • governance arrangements and operational principles;

  • design specifications;

  • commercial arrangements, including funding and financing;

  • arrangements for the provision of utilities and other services; and

  • the anticipated timeline/delivery program

WCAA will continue to engage with potential businesses that can assist in meeting the Government’s objectives for the Western City and Aerotropolis. Off the back of the curation process, WCAA will initiate processes to inform the broader market of opportunities to be involved in the delivery and operation of the Advanced Manufacturing and Research, Agribusiness and the Northern Gateway precincts.

More information about planned industry engagement sessions, expressions of interest and early involvement opportunities will be posted to the website and to the Authority’s Linkedin and Twitter feeds.
