The Western City & Aerotropolis will be built on 114 hectares adjoining the new Western Sydney International (Nancy Bird Walton) Airport.
As Australia’s newest smart city, it will be a world-leader in industry, food production and advanced manufacturing; delivering high value jobs, education and a national comparative advantage to Western Sydney.
· Advanced Manufacturing and Research Precinct: delivering a new wave of skilled knowledge jobs in the space, aerospace and defence industries
· Agribusiness Precinct: delivering jobs supporting intense food production, pharmaceutical manufacturing and a 24/7 international freight and logistics hub
· A gateway to the Aerotropolis: delivering a Greater Western Sydney Metro alignment and opportunities in tourism, retail and hospitality
Underpinning the precincts is a commitment to sustainable practice and process; open spaces; and modern, connected transport, utilities and services. Smart energy, recycled water-use and opportunities for renewable waste solutions will all form part of the planning process.
